All these pictures are related because they are of my family and friend. The first photo was inspired by –et images (photographer from Michigan) and a previous double exposure assignment. It was created by putting my camera on a tripod and taking multiple shots of me in different poses. In Photoshop I cloned each pose into one picture. In the second photo I focused on the softball instead of Emalie’s face because I wanted the picture to be unique (not a classic, focused, smiling face). I had Emalie hold out the softball and turned the aperture down to blur Emalie’s face and only focused on the ball. The third photo was inspired by the widespread use of technology today. Again, I didn’t want to take a typical, smiling photo, so I had my mom take a picture of my sisters with my phone and I focused on the phone screen instead of the girls. Once more, I turned the aperture down to blur the background and only got the image on the screen focused. Finally, I took a picture of my brother’s bird, Gribley, because he is cuter and easier to photograph than my family’s dog. Gribley was flying around and landed on the windowsill when I took this picture.
My Little People theme is “Summer”. I chose summer because there are only 25 days of school left until summer! To me, summer means eating A LOT of ice cream, reading (especially about
photography), and laying on the beach at both my grandparent’s camp in Michigan and my other grandparent’s lake lot in Annandale. Therefore, I chose to portray these images of summer through my Little Person. I took the ice cream parlor shot in one of the school’s reflective windows to get the ice cream parlor feel (with shiny, reflective windows). I made the umbrella from a straw and cupcake sleeve. I took the reading picture in a grassy area and simply bent the limbs of my doll to be in the laying position, and set the book in her arms. I focused on the book in this picture because reading and photography are the main points of the picture. Finally, I spend a lot of time on the beach and in the sun, so I decided to have my Little Person lay on the beach like me. I used a washcloth for her towel and put her on Collinwood beach. These four photos are all related because they are all childhood photos. The glow sticks represent
childhood because I do not know a kid who does not like to play with glow sticks. I created this picture by having two of my brothers wave glow sticks around in random motions. The reflective ball represents childhood because it looks like a beach ball, and when I was younger I loved to bounce beach balls around in the pool and on the beach. I captured this image by making the curved lines with my phone flashlight and holding a mirror beneath the flashlight to create the reflection. The painted driver reflects childhood because the “person” is driving my youngest sister’s princess car. This image was created by “painting” a person onto the car with a flashlight. My final image is of my little sister twirling an umbrella. This picture represents childhood because kids love any kind of gadget, such as an umbrella. I set up this image by having my sister hold an umbrella over her shoulder while twirling it to make the motion effect. Relaxation is the common theme between the three photos I took. I took a picture of books because I love reading on calm, quiet days. I simply stacked the books on top of one another and folded one book’s pages into the shape of a heart to represent my love for books and reading. The photo of the cupcakes was inspired by the fact that cupcakes always brighten my day, and eating a cupcake is a good way to relax. This photo was set up by putting a milk pitcher (for coffee), a bowl of sprinkles, and the cupcake on a mirror with a piece of pink tulle above the setup. Finally, although I do not drink coffee, my mom is an avid coffee drinker and I imagine myself sitting on
the deck someday drinking coffee, eating cupcakes, and reading a book, enjoying the sunshine. The coffee splash was created by dropping a rock into the full coffee cup. All these photos together would make for a supremely relaxing day. |
